VDS vs VDC

VDS vs VDC

We offer two cloud services: VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) and VDC (Virtual Data Center). Both run on enterprise-grade infrastructure with NVMe storage, full root access, and a choice of OS templates and Marketplace apps. The difference is in how you order, pay, and manage your servers.

VDS - Virtual Dedicated Server

A VDS is a single virtual machine with a fixed set of resources. You pick a plan, choose an OS template or a Marketplace app, and your server is deployed automatically. Fixed monthly price, no surprises.

How ordering works:

  • Select a category: Linux Based, Linux High Memory, Windows Based, Windows High Memory, or GPU Ready
  • Pick a plan with predefined CPU, RAM, disk, and port speed (500 Mbps)
  • Choose an OS template (Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Windows Server) or a Marketplace app (WordPress, Docker, Minecraft, n8n, GitLab, and more)
  • Optionally add an SSH key, daily backups, and additional CephFS storage

Management panel:

  • Overview - server status, credentials (root/password), IP address, OS, uptime, resource summary
  • Storage - disk details, backups, backup schedule
  • Logs - history of VM actions (start, configure, resize)
  • Usage - CPU and network traffic graphs
  • Billing - subscription summary, rebuild, add-on options

Server actions: Console, Reboot, Shutdown, Reset, Rebuild (reinstall OS).

Billing: Fixed monthly price. Plans range from 4 EUR/mo (1 core, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB disk) to 512 EUR/mo (32 cores, 128 GB RAM, 2 TB disk).

VDC - Virtual Data Center

A VDC is your own isolated cloud environment. You create virtual machines, build private networks, deploy managed routers, and scale resources per VM. You pay only for what you use: hourly billing for compute and storage, no commitments.

How ordering works:

  • Name your project and choose whether to enable automatic daily backups
  • Pay a one-time activation fee (1 EUR)
  • Your data center is provisioned instantly - start creating VMs, networks, and routers right away

Management panel (data center level):

  • List Servers - all your VMs and routers at a glance: status, IP, resources, uptime
  • Add new server - create VMs with custom CPU/RAM/disk using sliders. Choose from OS templates, Marketplace apps, or your own images. Assign public IPs and connect to private networks. Deploy VyOS routers in one click
  • Networks - create up to 10 private networks (VLANs) with custom subnets. Link VyOS routers for automatic DHCP, NAT, and DNS
  • Resources & IP - resource pricing, usage summary, estimated monthly cost, per-VM breakdown. Add and release public IP addresses on demand
  • My Images - upload custom ISO images and create reusable VM templates from your existing servers
  • Billing - account status, resource pricing, current period charges, detailed usage history

Per-VM panel:

  • Overview - server info, credentials, action panels: Scale (CPU/RAM), Storage (expand disk), Network (add/edit interfaces), ISO (boot from ISO), Rebuild, Delete
  • Firewall - per-VM firewall rules, options, and logs
  • Backup - backups and custom schedules per VM
  • Logs - operation history
  • Performance - resource usage graphs

VyOS managed routers:

  • Deployed automatically with DHCP, NAT, DNS, and firewall preconfigured
  • Manage through VyManager panel (auto-login from your data center)
  • Link routers to private networks, configure DHCP ranges, set up port forwarding

Billing: Pay-as-you-go, billed hourly. CPU: 2 EUR/core/mo. RAM: 4 EUR/GB/mo. NVMe Storage: 60 EUR/TB/mo. Public IP: 2 EUR/mo. Backup: 20 EUR/TB/mo. Scale up or down at any time, delete what you don't need.

Which One Should I Choose?

Choose VDS if:

  • You need a single server for a website, application, or service
  • You want quick setup: pick a plan, choose a template, and go
  • You prefer predictable, fixed monthly pricing

Choose VDC if:

  • You need multiple servers working together
  • You want private networks with managed routing (DHCP, NAT, port forwarding)
  • You need per-VM firewalls and independent scaling
  • You want to upload custom ISOs or create reusable VM templates
  • You prefer pay-as-you-go: pay only for resources you actually use

In a Nutshell

VDS is a single server with a fixed plan. Choose your resources, pick a template, start working. Fixed monthly price, no setup needed.

VDC is your own cloud environment. Create VMs, build private networks, deploy routers, scale independently. Pay only for what you use.

Not sure yet? Start with a VDS. You can always move to a VDC as your infrastructure grows.
