Scaling CPU and RAM

How you scale CPU and RAM depends on the server type you chose when creating it.

To start:

1. Open the server: Services → Virtual Data Center → your VDC → select the server
2. Go to the Overview tab
3. In the Resources card, click Scale (the button turns into Cancel)

Then, depending on the server type:

• Cluster (flexible resources): change the CPU and RAM values in the input fields, then click Apply. The server may briefly reboot to apply the change – you do not need to stop it first.
• Solo (ready-made plans): pick a new plan from the list. Only upgrades are available. A plan applies its CPU, RAM, and disk together in one step.
• GPU: resources are fixed by the package you selected. Scaling is not available for GPU servers.

The cost difference is shown next to the resources so you can see the new price before applying.

Adding and Expanding Disks

On Cluster servers you can add extra disks and expand existing ones from the Storage card on the Overview tab:

• Add Disk – attach a new disk of the size you choose
• Expand – increase the size of an existing disk (the new size must be larger than the current one)

On Solo and GPU servers the disk is part of the plan or package. To get more disk space on a Solo server, upgrade to a plan with a larger disk.

Note: Disks can only be grown, never shrunk. A newly added disk must be initialized and formatted inside the OS before use (for example Disk Management on Windows, or fdisk and mkfs on Linux). To free up space, delete files inside the OS.

Network Interfaces

You can add and remove private network interfaces from the Network card on the server’s Overview tab.

To add an interface:

1. In the Network card header, click + Add Interface
2. Choose the private network to connect to and confirm

To remove an interface:

1. Open Edit on the interface you want to remove
2. Click Remove and confirm

To add a public IP address, go to Resources & IP and click Add IP, then assign it to an interface.
